As indicated by a Rakuten Insight survey on consumer attitudes to social media advertising in India conducted in 2023, 55 percent of respondents clicked on ads on social media platforms because they found the content relevant. On the other hand, curiosity and entertaining content each drove just under 40 percent of respondents to open ads. Social media was one of the leading digital advertising formats employed in India.
