According to a 2023 survey, four in five young respondents from Hong Kong had not purchased any e-books in the last six months prior the survey period, comparingly, only one third had not bought any paper books.

The average age of respondents was 17.5 years old. Male respondents accounted for 47.3%. About 65.6% of respondents had a secondary school degree whereas the rest achieved a bachelor degree or above. About 84.1% of respondents were born in Hong Kong.
