A 2022 conducted survey among Australian consumers revealed that the leading reasons consumers stopped using a loyalty program was because they had to spend too much to get good rewards and that the rewards they received were generally useless, with over 45 percent of respondents indicating this. Over one-third of those surveyed also quit a loyalty program because they received too many spam e-mails.
