According to a survey conducted in Japan in 2023, convenience store payments were more popular among women than among men. Close to 49 percent of female teenagers and 46 percent of women in their eighties used the in-store payment method to pay for online purchases or financial transactions made in the past year. Konbini payments allow consumers to pay for goods and services ordered online at the counter of their local convenience store.
