Nearly 38 percent of business enterprises employing at least 10 persons in Serbia had a high or very high level of digital intensity, meaning that they used at least seven of the twelve digital technologies considered in the study in 2022. That was the highest figure in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and above the European Union (EU) average of over 32 percent. The lowest performance in the CEE region was recorded in Bulgaria, where approximately 82 percent of companies were found to have a low or very low digital intensity level.

The figures refer to enterprises with 10 and more employees.
The level is based on how many of the 12 digital technologies an enterprise is using (0-3: very low, 4-6: low, 7-9: high, 10-12: very high):
Use of computers with internet access by over 50% of the personnel;
ERP software package for information sharing between functional areas;
Maximum contracted download speed of at least 30 Mb/s;
Having web sales account for over 1% of the total revenue and B2C web sales for over 10% of total web sales;
Having e-commerce sales for at least 1% of the revenue;
IoT;
AI;
Social media;
Two or more social media;
Having CRM;
Buying sophisticated or intermediate CC services;
Buying CC services used over the internet.
