A 2022 study revealed that French online shoppers mostly returned purchases because they were damaged or defective. One-third of consumers returned items because they did not match the product description. Returns were also made due to incorrect sizing (32 percent), lower pricing found elsewhere (11 percent), and experimenting with different sizes (10 percent).
