Approximately 55 percent of Clean Vehicle Assistance Program grantees between 2018 and 2022 were between 21 and 39 years old. While older drivers received less electric vehicle funding, with those 70 years old and over making up three percent of the total grantees, younger drivers represented the lowest share of consumers attributed this grant, at one percent. Young drivers were also the smallest share of the U.S. licensed driver population.
