According to a survey by Rakuten Insight conducted in March 2023 on inflation caused changes in consumption behavior in South Korea, close to 56 percent of respondents aged 16 to 24 years old stated they now checked prices of something before buying. This was the most common respondents across all age groups, except those aged 55 years and older. While half the respondents in that age group also checked prices, an additional three percent also stated they cut back on unncessary expenses.
