In 2023, about 65 percent of internet users in China consumed movies, TV series, and other long-form videos online. Nonetheless, the subscription rate of video streaming stood below 30 percent among internet users. The difference was even more apparent in the short-form video segment, with a whooping 96 percent usage rate and only 10 percent paying rate.
