Number of reported sexually transmitted infections in Finland 2012-2022, by type
While the number of reported sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in Finland remained stable in the past, there has been a noticeable increase in cases starting from 2021. In 2022, almost 17 thousand Chlamydia cases were reported, followed by 966 Gonorrhea cases, 389 Syphilis, and 275 HIV cases. Along with that, the number of acute Hepatitis B cases amounted to 98 infections, which was more than twice as many as reported in 2021.
