Biggest challenges direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce companies in Germany 2022
More than half of German professionals working at direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce companies somehow struggled to build an online consumer base, a 2022 survey showed. Setting up an IT infrastructure enabling online commerce was the second-biggest challenge, with 48 percent of the answers. As the shopping experience gets more complex in the e-commerce environment, companies implementing D2C online stores must fulfill shoppers' expectations. Up to 47 percent of respondents stated that higher responsibility in customer satisfaction was challenging in the D2C business.
