The convenience of social commerce was the leading reason for shopping on social media platforms in Japan, as revealed in a survey conducted in February 2023 by Rakuten Insight. Sale and promotion codes followed as the second most commonly named reason for social commerce transactions in the past 12 months, with 30 percent of respondents.
