According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in South Korea in 2023 on social commerce, approximately 64.6 percent of respondents aged 25 to 34 years old stated they used Instagram for purchasing something during the last 12 months. Instagram was the most commonly used platform among respondents between 16 and 44 years old, while KakaoTalk was the most commonly used for social commerce for those 45 years and older.
