According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in South Korea in 2023 on social commerce, almost half of all respondents 55 years old and older stated they never bought anything via social media because they preferred to purchase items on either the official website or in physical stores. Another important reason against social media purchases for around 48 percent of respondents between the ages of 25 to 34 years was their distrust in products endorsed by influencers or celebrities.
