According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in South Korea in 2023 on social commerce, around 42 percent of male respondents answered they never bought anything using social media before because they preferred purchasing items at the official website or physical store. While around 39.83 percent of female respondents answered the same, the more common answer among female respondents was their distrust in products endorsed by influencers and celebrities at around 40.9 percent.
