A study conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain found that anxiety and depressive disorders were the most common reasons for consulting mental health professionals in the European country as of February 2021. That year, nearly eight out of ten mental health consultations were related to these two conditions. Anxiety disorders alone accounted for 43.7 percent of consultations. Meanwhile, over three in every ten interviewees seeking mental health care in Spain suffered from depressive disorders.
