In 2022, parents who identified as Democrats were found to be more likely than Republicans to believe that parents had too much influence on what kids are learning in school while Republican parents were found more likely to believe that school boards had too much influence on what kids are learning in school. 30 percent of surveyed Republican parents said that the local school board had too much influence, while only eight percent said that parents had too much influence.
