North America is the world's leading region based on natural gas supply, accounting for 1.15 trillion cubic meters (tcm) in 2021. This is expected to increase to 1.4 tcm in 2050. Similarly, the supply of natural gas in the other world regions is expected to increase by several hundred billion cubic meters (bcm) by 2050, with the exception of Europe. Europe is the only region forecast to have a substantial decrease in its supply of natural gas, from 200 bcm in 2021 to 100 bcm in 2050.
