As of 2024, the Apex Regional Landfill located near Las Vegas, Nevada, was the largest landfill in the United States in terms of design capacity, with nearly one billion tons. The Apex Regional disposal site has more than double the capacity of the ECDC Environmental Landfill in Utah, which ranked second in terms of design capacity that year.
