Share of adults who think student loans impact financial security U.S. 2022 by income
According to a survey conducted in 2022, 66 percent of adults who earned under 50,000 U.S. dollars believed that resuming payments towards their student loans would have a major impact on their financial security, while 25 percent believed that there would be a minor impact. However, 42 percent of adults who made more than 100,000 U.S. dollars also said that there would be at least a minor impact on their financial security as a result of resuming payments towards their student loans.
