According to a survey on biodiversity conducted in mid-2022 in Japan, close to 67 percent of respondents stated that they regarded nature's self-regulating air-related functions as the most important to their daily lives. The provision of drinkable water ranked almost equally as high on the Japanese public opinion, followed by nature's function as a living space for both animals and plants alike.
