Crude oil prices indices are the lowest among all fossil fuel energy prices, having decreased in the last 6-month period. In October 2024, the global crude oil price index stood at 179.28 index points. This compared to 194.93 for coal and 190.26 index points for natural gas. Greater heating demand throughout the winter months led to an increase in the price index for natural gas and coal. Meanwhile, reduced oil demand in China affected global prices overall.
