A survey of one thousand United States adult citizens conducted in 2022 questioned the respondent's importance of not wasting food. Over half, or 55 percent, of those surveyed reported that not wasting food was "very important" to them. 30 percent of survey participants said it was "somewhat important" not to waste food.
