As of 2022, 25 percent of companies in South Africa confirmed a lack of management understanding to be a barrier of quite some magnitude facing online marketers by preventing them from getting more value out of social media. Overall, some 61 percent of companies believed this barrier to have some to significant influence on the value attained by online marketers on social media.
