According to a survey conducted in April 2021 in the United States, only around half of the respondents believe geoengineering techniques can help reduce the effects of climate change. In particular, some 41 percent of the surveyed people claim that solar geoengineering can assist in the mitigation of climate change, whereas another 50 percent believe cloud seeding would be helpful to tackle this global issue.
Solar geoengineering involves dispersing particles in the Earth's atmosphere to reflect the sunlight and help lower the planet's temperature. Cloud seeding also involves spreading particles in the atmosphere, but to promote rain and snowfall.
