In France, the average gross monthly pension (direct right, derived right, and additional pension for three or more children) per retiree increased by almost 500 euros between 2004 and 2022. During the same period, men's pensions also increased by more than 500 euros, similar to women's. In 2022, women earned 538 euros less than their male counterparts. In 2023, more than 15 million people were pensioners under the general pension plan of direct and derived rights in France.

"This data excludes individuals who received a lump sum payment. Civil servants who terminate a disability pension and have reached the minimum age of retirement are included. The net pension is calculated after deduction of the CSG, CRDS and CASA. "
