According to an annual survey, the reasons adults in the United States gave for not using Facebook varied from 2020 to 2021, with the largest difference regarding the answer of not liking how Facebook conducts its business at around 27 percent in 2020 and 43 percent in 2021 giving this answer. It was also the most common reason in 2021, while the second most common reason for not using Facebook, indicated by approximately 42 percent of non-users and aligned with general views as well, was low trust in the platform to handle their privacy and personal data. Facebook nevertheless continues to be one of the most popular social networks used worldwide.
