Between January and October 2024, the Tesla Model Y was the best-selling plug-in electric vehicle (PEV), at nearly 929,000 unit sales. While two of Tesla's models were among the 10 most popular PEV models, over half of these models were BYD-branded. In 2023, BYD surpassed Tesla in terms of total PEV sales.
