According to a 2021 survey conducted among internet users in Canada, almost three in 10 respondents reported thinking Meta Platforms should be regulated and broken up in order to promote healthy competition. In comparison, 23 percent of respondents agreed the company should only be regulated by the government. Overall, one in five respondents stated that the company's regulations should stay as they are. Additionally, 27 percent of Canadians agreed that the company should be regulated and broken up.
