According to a survey in 2021, about 53 percent of Chinese light and medium-spending consumers reported that they have used WeChat to research luxury products. Moreover, among other types of channels, content-focused social media also helped consumers to research before making a purchasing decision for high-end items, with a share of 34 percent of respondents.
