An April 2021 study broke down by ethnicity the engagement with online arts and cultural activities in the United States. Overall, watching artists livestreaming on social media was the most popular activity. However, while 39 percent of American Indian/Alaska Native respondents claimed to have done so, around a quarter of Hispanic/Latinx and White survey participants stated the same. Meanwhile, 38 percent of surveyed Asian/Pacific Islander individuals took part in online classes, courses, or workshops, and 16 percent of Black/African American respondents engaged with online materials or activities for kids.
