According to an April 2021 study, listening to podcasts and watching artists livestreaming on social media were the most popular online arts and cultural activities in the United States, with a quarter of respondents claiming to have done so. While 21 percent of the survey sample participated in online classes, courses, or workshops, only six percent of respondents joined a virtual book club.
