Number of Reddit Awards and Reddit Coins exchanged in 2022

In 2022, it was estimated that users on Reddit exchanged approximately 52 million awards, for a value of 5.1 billion Reddit Coins. Reddit Coins are a type of digital currency that users on the platform can acquire as a one-time purchase or via paid subscription. Once they have been purchased, Reddit Coins can be used to award worthy posts and users, and cannot be exchanged back for mainstream currencies. In July 2023, Reddit announced Reddit Coins and awards would no longer be available starting from September 2023.
