In the first quarter of 2024, Algeria and Nigeria played a noticeable role in the natural gas import trade in the European Union (EU). While Algeria accounted for nearly 10 percent of the liquified natural gas imported into the EU, Nigeria's contribution reached 4.2 percent. Moreover, in terms of gaseous natural gas imports into the EU, Algeria had a share of close to 20 percent in the regions's trade in value.
