As of December 2021, around 70 percent of elderly internet users in China could show health code or travel card on their mobile phone without any help to comply with local COVID-19 regulations. There were around 119 million netizens aged 60 years and above in China, accounting for about 11.5 percent of the country's total internet userbase.
