POS and e-ecommerce revenue Belgium 2018-2020, with a 2024 forecast
Between 2018 and 2020, the estimated POS (points of sales) and E-commerce revenue in Belgium varied. While POS revenue reached 166 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, it was 158 billion U.S. dollars in 2020. This number is expected to go up again, however, reaching 186 billion U.S. dollars in 2024.
Within the Benelux region, Belgium's e-commerce sector is not yet as developed as the sector in the Netherlands. BeCommerce, Belgium's e-commerce association, mentions for example that e-commerce is "ten times larger" in the Netherlands than it is in Belgium. It is growing rapidly, however. In 2016, Amazon was the largest online retailer in Belgium with a revenue of approximately 288 million euros.
