Insurance premiums per capita in Germany fell by more than 60 euros in 2022 compared with the previous year. German insurance density shrunk to approximately 2,600 euros in 2022. However, this was still significantly higher than in 1991, when density for all insurances was reported to be 1,074 euros. Insurance density is a key indicator of insurance development and is the ratio of premiums underwritten in a particular year in relation to the population of the entire country.
