Distribution of WeChat influencer accounts in China 2021, by follower size
Millions of Chinese internet users follow WeChat official accounts, the Chinese equivalent of Facebook pages, for useful news and product information. As of April 2021, about 76 percent of the KOL official accounts on WeChat were micro-influencers with an audience reach between 20,000 and 100,000 active users in China. Not many WeChat official accounts can achieve the mega influencer status which can reach to over one million active users.
