Consumers using emerging channels when shopping 2021, by age group
According to a survey conducted in May 2021 among consumers worldwide, 41 percent of respondents aged 18 to 25 said they made purchases through social media channels, compared to 22 percent of consumers aged 46 and older. Voice assistant-accompanied purchases were cited by 15 percent of respondents aged 18-25 and three percent aged 46 and older, while 11 percent of 18-25 respondents and one percent of 46+ respondents said they used virtual reality headsets when shopping.
