According to a survey that was conducted in Japan in 2021, over 50 percent of respondents stated that they did not take any disaster prevention measures because they did not know what kind of measures they should take. This was followed by close to 30 percent of respondents who said that they did not take any measures since they lived in an area where natural disasters usually do not occur.
