In 2023, about seven percent of Chinese survey respondents followed a pescetarian diet. This type of diet adds fish to an otherwise vegetarian diet. Japanese consumers are, in comparison, much less likely to follow a pescetarian diet; only two percent of respondents from Japan stated that they typically do so.
