Access to clean cooking in Africa slightly increased to 19.3 percent in 2019. The proportion of the population relying on clean fuels and technologies for cooking, heating, or lightning in the continent has slowly improved since 2012. That year, the access rate to clean cooking was measured at 16 percent.
