Shortly before Halloween in 2021, original M&Ms were the most popular choice of candy among surveyed adults in the United States. When the respondents were asked to pick one candy over another, slightly under three quarters chose the Peanut Butter Cup from Reese's. This put Reese's Peanut Butter Cup just behind M&Ms which were picked above other candy in 76.1 percent of all cases.
