According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight among South Koreans in June 2021 on their reasons to not shop in physical stores as frequently as they did before the coronavirus even after restrictions were lifted, around 36 percent of 16 to 24 years old respondents answered it was because they preferred the convenience of shopping online. This answer was progressively less given with increasing age. On the other hand, younger people stated an avoidance of crowds out of fear of catching the virus less often than older generations.
