Favorite game genres among eSports fans in China 2023

According to a survey on Chinese eSports fans conducted in May 2023, MOBA games, also known as multiplayer online battle arena, were the most popular eSports game genre. Almost 75 percent of respondents mainly followed such games in the last 12 months prior the survey period. Some famous MOBA titles are League of Legends, Dota 2, and Honor of Kings.

eSports users refer to eSports gamers, eSports tournament audience, and eSports livestream viewers. To be counted as an eSports user, respondents should fulfill at least one of the following requirements:
1. In the past year, they had either watched or participated in at least one eSports tournament, including professional and unprofessional matches.
2. They play eSports games or watch eSports livestreams regularly each month.
