According to a Taiwanese consumer survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in May 2021, half of female respondents said that alternative free or cheaper channels to access to the shows was the main reason to not pay for subscription video-on-demand (SVOD). Unaffordable price and no interest in the shows on offer were another two common reasons among those unwilling to subscribe.
