According to a Hong Kong consumer survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in May 2021, an increase in subscription fee was the most common reason among male respondents who were planning to cancel their subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services in the next three months, with 47 percent of users saying so. The same surveyed found that those who intended to stop paying for SVOD services in the next three months in Hong Kong accounted for 17 percent among the surveyed SVOD users.
