SVOD usage without paying for subscriptions in Hong Kong 2024
According to a Hong Kong consumer survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2024, about 21 percent of respondents who did not subscribe to any subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms accessed to such services through accounts of their family or acquaintances. Unaffordable subscription fees and alternative free or cheaper channels to access to the desired shows were the most common reasons not to pay for SVOD services.
