SVOD usage without paying for subscriptions in China 2024
According to a Chinese consumer survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2024, about 37 percent of respondents who did not pay on any subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms accessed to such services through accounts of their family or acquaintances. High subscription costs and free or cheaper channels to access to the desired shows were the most common reasons not to pay for SVOD services.
