Value of fintech M&A activities worldwide 2017-2022
Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities in the fintech sector reached nearly eight billion U.S. dollars worldwide during the second quarter of 2022. The value represented by these financial activities, involving the acquisition of assets from one company by another, fluctuated significantly between the first quarter of 2017 and the second quarter of 2022. Nevertheless, it reached its global peak during the third quarter of 2019, with a total transactions amounting to 130.5 billion U.S. dollars.
